OREGON CANNABIS EMPLOYERS
Secure a Labor Peace Agreement with the Teamsters
As a result of Measure 119, Oregon law now requires anyone who wants a license to process or sell cannabis in the state of Oregon to enter into a Labor Peace Agreement with a bona fide labor organization (such as the Teamsters) that either represents or seeks to represent cannabis workers.
The Teamsters are intimately familiar with the issues facing both employers and workers in the cannabis industry. We represent cannabis workers throughout the country and have relationships with both stand-alone and multi-state operators.
As you consider a labor organization to partner with it is important to also keep in mind that the Teamsters have the largest and most effective legislative department in labor.
We are actively advocating for reforms that benefit the cannabis industry and its workers such as the SAFER Banking Act, the Small Business Tax Equity Act and the MORE Act. The Teamsters also support the reclassification of cannabis under the Controlled Substance Act.
To secure a Labor Peace Agreement with the Teamsters reach out to Elijah Hoffman, a Union Representative at Teamsters Local 162. Elijah can be reached by phone at (503) 257-0162 or email at ehoffman@teamsters162.com
