9.5 Sign Up Lists Circulating in UPS Centers
Updated On: Apr 10, 2019

New provisions in the UPS contract on excessive overtime, which will take effect once the new contract is ratified, require the Union to circulate a list and collect the names of package drivers who wish to opt-in and be covered by the provisions of Article 37.1c of the National Master UPS Agreement.

If you want your name on the 9.5 opt-in list, which the Union will be forwarding to the Company once the contract is ratified, you need to sign up on the list posted on the Union bulletin board.  You can also notify a package driver shop steward in your center or Local 162 Business Agent and they will document it.  If you do not opt-in you are subject to working overtime as needed.

Once the new contract is ratified, a package driver may add or delete his/her name from the opt-in list at any time with one week’s notice to the Company.  We suggest you have a steward present when you make the notification and that you document it.

The current 9.5 provisions remain in effect while we await ratification of the new contract.  The 9.5 provisions for both the current contract and the not yet ratified contract are posted on the Local 162 website at www.teamsters162.com.
