Pepsi Members Turn Out in Huge Numbers to Overwhelmingly Ratify New 4-Year Agreement

Local 162 members working at Pepsi in Portland, Oregon met at the Union hall on Saturday, March 7, to vote on a new 4-year contract.  The meeting was chaired by Local 162 President Mark Davison and he was joined at the podium by Business Agent Mike Mayo and stewards who served on the negotiating commitee. The Local 162 executive board and agents from throughout the Local were also in attendance.  

The membership turned out in record numbers to overwhelmingly ratify the new agreement that provides the largest wage and pension increases ever seen under the Pepsi Portland contract.  Members were given the option for additional increases to the pension above the hard numbers negotiated by the Union.  Members overwhelmingly approved sending a portion of their first year wage increase to additional increases to the pension.  

Local 162 represents Pepsi drivers, warehouse, sales, merchandisers, mechanics and cooler service technicians under the agreement.  

The Portland facility is moving to Clackamas, Oregon.  Pepsi gave the Union tours of the new facility and the Union negotiated important provisions to protect the memberships Union and seniority rights at the new facility.
